Think all low-volume and light-valued fabrics are simply "light"? Think again! Unlock the magic of light fabrics with my Luminous Pyramids Quilt online class!
Let’s challenge that idea and elevate your quilting skills. In this interactive class, you’ll learn how to harness the subtle power of color value to create a luminous, scrappy quilt that glows with movement and depth.
Join me as we sew the classic “Thousand Pyramids” quilt block using a curated mix of the lightest prints from your stash. I’ll guide you step-by-step—showing how to sort fabrics by light and dark value, and how to use those two values to design a quilt layout that feels cohesive, airy, and full of dimension. You’ll discover why some quilts appear flat while others sparkle with energy and contrast.
What you’ll learn:
- How to confidently identify color value differences in your favorite light quilting fabrics for dynamic, glowing quilt layouts
- Tips for creating a calming, modern scrappy quilt layout
- Tricks for cutting and piecing triangles so your points are sharp and your seams align
- How to find inspiration and translate it into a beautiful fabric pull
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced quilter, you’ll gain new insight into fabric selection and quilt design. Fine-tune your eye for value and transform your approach to quilting—moving beyond simple assembly to truly designing quilts that shine.
